- Tasting Notes 1: Antonio Galloni-93-The 2016 Dalem is a flamboyant, unctuous wine. Super-ripe black cherry, chocolate, blackberry, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and incense all run though this opulent, unapologetically full-throttle Fronsac. Dalem is one of the most overt, voluptuous wines of the year. I find it utterly irresistible. Tasted two times.
- Tasting Notes 2: Neal Martin-93-The 2016 Dalem has an intense bouquet of well-defined black cherry, raspberry coulis and marmalade aromas. The palate is well balanced with juicy ripe black fruit, a fine bead of acidity, plenty of freshness and fine attack on the finish. This is an excellent Dalem and comes recommended. Fronsac at its best.
- Tasting Notes 3: Lisa Perrotti-Brown-92+-Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Dalem (blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) leaps from the glass with notions of warm black cherries, chocolate mint and baked black plums plus hints of star anise, garrigue and cedar chest. Full-bodied yet possessing fantastic freshness and harmony on the palate, it has wonderfully vibrant fruit and a ripe, grainy frame, finishing with a compelling lift.
- Tasting Notes 4: The owner is about to buy another 11 ha! 50% malolactic fermentation in barrique. Mild, and fruit is privileged over oak. Charming and very round. Maybe could do with just a little more structure. Sweet ink for the moment. Meaty.
