It is a grape first mentioned by numerous Ancient Greek writers, making it a unique artifact of ancient viticulture. A medium-bodied wine. Intense bouquet of sour cherry and spice (cinnamon, cloves), a touch of dried apricot lying on an oak background. The palate is soft and full of fine, ripe tannins that support a long finish. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine will reward cellaring for up to 15 years. Bottled unfined and unfilitered.
