Tasting Notes 1: Neal Martin-89-Having never been a huge fan of the 2007 white Burgundies, it was not a surprise to find myself "lukewarm" in the presence of the 2006 Meursault Village. The nose is generous and quite complex with citrus peel, touches of lime, flint and dried flowers, although like the '07 it does not possess the same level of killer detail. The palate is balanced, although the oak is not quite as assimilated as the '08. However, there is good depth here even if it just seems a little monotone on the finish. This is akin to a Jean-Francois Coche "B-side," i.e., you still want to listen to it, but not time and time again like the "A-side".
