Tasting Notes 1: Stephen Tanzer-92+-Subtle aromas of white flowers, citrus skin and spices, along with a whiff of mirabelle Rather closed in the middle, with hints of citrus fruit and licorice. A very rich and rather powerful style; manages to maintain its balance despite its 14% alcohol, yet it's hard to get a handle on this wine today.
Tasting Notes 2: Neal Martin-94-Served at Chateau Gruaud Larose, this 1999 Chave Blanc has a lovely bouquet with scents of lemon curd, melted candle wax and broom. The palate is very well balanced, slightly viscous on the entry, a touch of dried apricot, ginger and orange essence, fanning out nicely with just a touch of warm alcohol enveloping the finish. Superb. Drink now-2020+ Tasted March 2010.
