Established in 2005, Kilchoman (pronounced Kil-ho-man) is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. Based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on the island for 125 years.Kilchoman displays all that is great about the grass-roots traditions of Scotch Whisky distilling and truly is Islays farm distillery - from barley to bottle.Sanaig, located north of the distillery is a small rocky inlet and is the main name given to this predominantly sherry cask influenced expression.Colour: Beech WoodNose: Soft cooked fruits with caramel and vanilla now evident.Palate: Toffee, peat smoke and citrus with a lingering sweetness.Finish: A lovely balance of peat smoke, fruit and sweetness.
