Tasting Notes 1: Antonio Galloni-94-The 1988 Barolo (magnum) is a very pleasant surprise. Over the years, it has been inconsistent, but this magnum is terrific. Bright and nuanced for a wine of its age and era, the 1988 offers gorgeous Nebbiolo character to complement its mid-weight personality. Although the 1988 doesn t have the presence of either the 1989 or 1990, it more than holds its own in this flight, and that is saying a lot.
