Tasting Notes 1: Neal Martin-91-The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Bel Air 1er Cru has a slightly more savory bouquet with white pepper and clove aromas, fine mineralite and tension. The palate is medium-bodied with a little reduction on the entry, quite gourmand in style, fleshy and ripe towards the finish with touches of white pepper and Earl Grey. Maybe the La Riotte has a little more persistence?
Tasting Notes 2: Planted at higher elevation, next to Chambertin-Clos de Beze. Cask sample. Deep cherry; red- and black-berried fruits, plush but ending with minerality and a salty finish. Finely structured. (MH)
