Barbera d’Alba, an underrated red from Piemonte is less well known and less appreciated than its famous cousin Barolo which has made this region famous. Barbera is lighter bodied, with higher acidity and much less tannins than Nebbiolo.This wine has soft tannins and a fresh persistent acidity which is typical for Barbera. It is perfectly balanced with a sweet fruity taste and a medium-long finish.
