From the warm pink sandstone soils of the Furst family’s Centgrafenburg vineyard, just outside the village of Bürgstadt in Franconia, comes this sumptuous Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). Pale orangy/pink/brick red, the nose is bright, precise and elegant with distinctive (German Pinot) notes of bacon, clove and even of wild (Black) forest floor fruit and strawberries. Vinified in 52hl cement tanks followed by ageing in smaller French barrels, with 16 days maceration destemmed after a cold soak, the med/full palate’s lush, quite heady and succulent even, with pretty, strawberry/cerise fruit, wrappe
