Tasting Notes 1: Monica Larner-90-The 2020 Bolgheri Rosso Clarice is a soft and mellow red with plenty of cherry, ripe blackberry, smoke and spice. The blend is 45% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc (aged in oak for a brief nine months). The vines are planted in medium-density clay and sandy soils with lots of rocks. It offers a medium-rich mouthfeel with lingering sweetness on the close. Total annual production of Clarice is about 22,000 bottles.
