Casado (Portuguese for marriage) is matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats.
The two years spent in red wine vats has added layers of rich red fruit and mixed spices, balancing beautifully with the maritime peat smoke and citrus character unique to Kilchoman.
