This is a blended malt named after Nikka's founder Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. He is the first Japanese who mastered whisky-making in Scotland and brought this expertise back to Japan. While being a disciplined craftman, Masataka was also a person of curiosity and open-mindedness.
This whisky has been inspired by his personality to showcase an exquisite balance between elegant softness and deep complexity.
Round and full of delicacy. Cereal aromas alongside sweet spice with an ounce of cardamon. At the same time, candied fruit notes appear with a more assertive character giving depth and length.
